On Display

Smoketree blossoms, shaped like tiny trees, break away from their branches in the late summer. On the trees, these feathery blooms resemble clouds of smoke, belying their structural integrity. In truth, these delicacies must withstand the rigors of being flung far and wide by the wind long enough to disperse their seeds away from their source to ensure the survival of the species. This tumbling is brutal but necessary to release the tiny seeds, like ideas, that will flourish or perish. On Display is a collection of these delicate flowers, held in place by vellum and glass - both fragile materials – as if suspended in time and preserved at that moment before ideas can set root and grow.
