Holding Pattern

Woven potholders, a childhood crafting tradition and a familiar source of protection, become the backdrop for bundles of maple seed stems - the last connection to the source of nurturing as seeds fall. Left behind, the stems remain attached to the tree for weeks before dropping to the ground, discarded and forgotten. Holding Pattern is a testament to the necessity and power of connections and a recollection of artifacts too often relegated to the back of a drawer.
